 AYAMA

Pranayama is the yogic practice of breath control. It is an integral component of traditional yoga, aiming to harness and regulate the breath to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The word "pranayama" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "prana," meaning life force or vital energy, and "ayama," meaning control or expansion.

Pranayama techniques involve conscious manipulation of the breath, including control of inhalation, exhalation, and retention. The practice is rooted in the belief that by regulating the breath, one can influence the flow of prana in the body, balancing and revitalizing the energy systems.

Pranayama breathing techniques are developed in depth in these classes.
